Rooted In Collective Joy
March 11, 2026 | 10:00am - 3:30pm PT
Point Ellice House, Victoria BC

Join the BC Museums Association’s IBPOC & 2SLGBTQIA+ Networks for a full day of activities celebrating intersectional joy and building solidarity.

The morning will highlight the work of local artists Alex Chen & Anna Bigland-Pritchard (Gay4Nature Collective), bailey macabre, and Andrea Simmonds. After lunch, we will join together for a zine-making workshop with bailey, and end with a Tea & Talk. This event is an opportunity for participants to connect with each other, share their goals, visions, and struggles in their work, seek peer-support, and strengthen their solidarity networks.

Lunch will be provided, as well as a free tour of our host venue Point Ellice House.

*Accessibility information: the event will take place primarily in the Carriage House at Point Ellice House, which is not fully accessible: it has a step at the entrance, and the washroom is not large enough or equipped for wheelchairs. However, there are accessible, gender-neutral washrooms in the Visitor Centre, which will be available. The washroom inside the Carriage House is gender netural. BCMA events are low-scent events. Please do not wear perfumes or other strong scents.
