About Our Book and Media Club

Beyond the Margins seeks to create a supportive intersectional space focused on community building in the arts, culture, and heritage sector. This growth-oriented network provides a space to learn from one another and build solidarity amongst queer and IBPOC folks through the exploration of diverse media.

Feel free to come for one session, or join us for them all! Haven't had a chance to listen/read the media? You are always welcome to still join us for conversation! Please get in touch if you need assistance in accessing the media.

Hosting joint network events is intended as a way to celebrate and hold space for intersectionalities of identity and fill gaps in this type of programming – all who identify as IBPOC and/or 2SLGBTQIA+ are welcome!

We are continually exploring ways to make this club as accessible as possible, so you are interested in joining but concerned about accessibility, please get in touch with our coordinators at bcma@museum.bc.ca. Our coordinators are open to recording voice notes of written text, visually describing video or images, and other ways to help everyone engage with the media.
