2026 BCMA Conference - Call for Proposals

Thank you for your interest in submitting a presentation proposal for the 2026 BC Museums Association Conference taking place November 3rd - 6th. This year, we will convene at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre in Nanaimo on the traditional territory of the Snuneymuxw First Nation. This year’s theme, People, Purpose, and the Power of Gathering, celebrates the People who power our sector, reconnect with our shared Purpose to help make sense of the world, and harness the Power of Gathering to spark transformative change.

Presenter Submission Guidelines: 

Please read and familiarize yourself with the presenter guidelines.

  1. You may submit more than one proposal using this form (refresh the page to clear the form).
  2. All sessions are typically 60 or 90 minutes (45 or 75 minutes of presenting time to allow for Q&A), unless otherwise noted.
  3. Panel presentations are acceptable and are limited to a maximum of 3 panelists. This form allows a maximum of three uploads and/or inputs per submission.
  4. The AV supplied in each meeting room includes: a laptop computer with sound for video, LCD projector and screen, microphones for the presenter and panel, and a flipchart with paper and markers.  No other AV will be supplied. 
  5. Presenters are responsible for supplying any materials or handouts associated with the presentation.
  6. Presentation materials must be submitted in PowerPoint format by October 1st, 2026. 
  7. Discounted registration will be provided to accepted presenters.
  8. Presenters are responsible for their own transportation and accommodation. Presenter fees and/or honorariums are not provided. Please see the BC Museums Association website for available bursaries.
