Museum/Heritage site Interpretive Guide
The Friends of Fintry Provincial Park Society has an opening for two Interpretive Guides at the Fintry Estate. The employees will receive hands-on work experience and job training in museum/heritage site work and research pertaining to the history of the Fintry Estate. Tasks and responsibilities include leading and assisting with museum tours and programs, taking bookings, assisting with museum events, lectures, educational programming and outreach, digitizing the collection, presentations and activities. The Guide will greet visitors, assist with office and administrative tasks, manage the museum gift shop and work with staff and volunteers in museum projects and research. Some scheduled weekend and evening work will be required.
Fintry Provincial Park is quite isolated and approximately one hour’s drive from both Kelowna and Vernon along Westside Road. We therefore offer onsite accommodation in the student apartment in the heritage Manor House.
The funding for these positions is through Canada Summer Jobs, and is for an 8-week period beginning June 19th.
