The BCMA’s 2023 gathering will take place in person during the week of September 25 – 28, 2023!

The BCMA community has been invited by our colleagues at Saahlinda Naay Haida Gwaii Museum and the Haida Heritage Centre to join them for three days of learning on the land, connecting with each other, and exploring our collective work, impact, and responsibilities.

Ticket Allocations

Due to capacity limits for the remote community of Haida Gwaii, we kindly ask you to limit attendance to a maximum of three people from the same organization. The annual BCMA gathering is held in different parts of the province (and sometimes virtually) and we would like to offer as many BCMA members as possible, and especially those from the North Coast and neighbouring regions, an opportunity to attend this event.

Capacity

The number of attendees will be capped at 150 people due to capacity limitations at our local venues and to limit the risks associated with COVID-19.

Ticket Pricing

We recognize that many of our members pay for conference tickets, travel, and accommodations out of pocket and rely on the annual gathering as an essential way of connecting with their colleagues. We also understand that the costs associated with attending this year’s gathering on Haida Gwaii will be higher than in previous years.

In an effort to make this event more accessible, we are offering the following options:

  • IBPOC, Underemployed, EMP

These tickets are meant for Indigenous people, BPOC, underemployed delegates, and emerging professionals.

  • Subsidized Ticket

Subsidized tickets are meant for delegates who will be paying out of pocket to attend the gathering and are not receiving financial support from their organization for the trip. These tickets are booked on an honour system and we ask those who are able to pay the full price to do so.

  • Standard Ticket

We ask those who are able to pay the full price do so.

If you are unsure what ticket type is best for you, take this quick quiz.
